Breath is life

As existence precedes essence, life precedes meanings and purposes. In this perspective, life itself takes precedence over any constructed meaning, including the notion of an ultimate meaning of life, which neither exists nor can exist. Life is primary and intrinsic, while meanings and purposes are rather secondary constructs fabricated by human consciousness. When life is subordinated to such an ultimate meaning, it becomes merely a means to serve that meaning, rather than the other way around. This view suggests that suffering, particularly the suffering of innocent children, must have some purpose or meaning that serves this ultimate goal. However, empirically, suffering has no inherent goal, purpose, or meaning, and the universe indifferently moves on no matter what.
